Gallery 1010 - University of Tennessee Student Gallery 1150 McCalla Avenue Knoxville, TN. APPLICATIONS DUE AT LEAST 2 WEEKS IN ADVANCE OF THE PROPOSED EXHIBITION DATE. GALLERY 1010 is a student-run exhibition space available to all undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Tennessee. In addition, students from other universities and artists outside of the University of Tennessee are welcome to have work exhibited ONLY through nomination and representation of a UTK student. Current policies and procedures regarding exhibitions at GALLERY 1010 are under the auspices of the gallery director Austin Pratt, associate director Katie Gentner, and the advisor to the directors, Emily Bivens. All exhibition proposals will be reviewed by a confidential Selections Committee comprised of undergraduate and graduate students from the School of Art. The School of Art reserves the right to request exhibition opportunities for special events and needs that will benefit the program as a whole. If your application is approved for an exhibition, you are required to comply with all rules and regulations of GALLERY 1010 and The University of Tennessee as established by the Directors and outlined in the GALLERY 1010 Terms and Conditions packet. Failure to do so may revoke any approval to exhibit.

  • REMINDER: APPLICATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED AT LEAST 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO PROPOSED SHOW DATE TO BE CONSIDERED. ALL SLOTS ARE FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE. Exhibitions run Tuesday at 12pm through Wednesday at 12pm. Receptions are held typically held Tuesday evenings from 6-9pm. (A few weekend pop ups are available during winter break, those run Friday through Sunday 12-4pm. Receptions are held Friday evenings from 6-9pm.)

    Please upload a brief description (3-5 sentences) of the exhibition including: concept, medium, installation specifics, and format. Applications that fully detail the proposed exhibit and demonstrate the competence and direction of the artist are strongly preferred.

    Please upload 5-10 images of your work. For group shows or curatorial shows please provide at least 1 image per artist. Digital images must be in jpeg format, 72 dpi and sized 1200 pixels on the longest side. The name of each file must begin with the artist's last name followed by the image number corresponding to the image list (Lastname01.jpg). Video files must be formatted as .mov files, viewable on a Mac, and not exceed 2 minutes per files. No Final Cut, AfterEffects, iMovie, or Premier will be viewed.
